Visioneering Technologies, Inc., Sponsors Educational Roundtable Supplement “The Truth about Myopia”
To help eye care practitioners better understand the growing impact of myopia on their practices, Visioneering Technologies, Inc., has sponsored an educational supplement, “The Truth About Myopia,” in the August issue of Contact Lens Spectrum.
Identifying better ways to manage the reported increases in myopia has become a growing concern for eye care practitioners. The supplement highlights a roundtable discussion with vision care leaders and practitioners last May.
Faculty leading the roundtable included Jason J. Nichols, O.D., M.P.H., Ph.D., editor-in-chief of Contact Lens Spectrum; Thomas Aller, O.D., a private practitioner who has been conducting myopia research for 25 years; Kate Gifford, BAppSc (Optom)Hons, FAAO, a clinician-scientist and leading peer educator in private practice in Brisbane, Australia; David A. Berntsen, O.D., Ph.D., an associate professor at The Ocular Surface Institute at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he conducts myopia and contact lens research; and Brett O’Connor, O.D., a clinical optometrist with one of the top eye care practices in Jacksonville, FL. Additional information on presenters and their support are reported in the supplement.
